Every year section chiefs from around the nation gather along with the lead advisers of the Order of the Arrow to plan for the coming year at the National Planning Meeting. This year’s meeting was held December 27-30 in Westlake, Texas at the Marriott Solana. Once the meeting began the section chiefs were swiftly escorted into the election for the national chief and vice chief. In the wee hours of the morning National Chief Alex Call and National Vice Chief Donald Stephens emerged victorious. The next morning the chiefs broke into regions to elect the 2015 region chiefs. Matthew Bell was elected as the 2015 northeast region chief.
The theme for the 2015 National Order of the Arrow Conference was revealed as It Starts With Us. In the days following the unveiling of the theme, the section chiefs and advisers were divided into committees to plan for NOAC. Each committee elected a youth conference vice chief. The Northeast Region is proud to have Dylan O’Brien (NE-1) serving as the special events conference vice chief and to have Keith Roscoe (NE-3B) serving as the inductions and ceremonial events conference vice chief.
The ArrowTour staff also assembled adjacent to the National Planning Meeting to construct the caravans for the first time. National Planning Meeting attendees as well as local Scouts and Scouters had the opportunity to view and participate in the ArrowTour.
The National Planning Meeting was very productive for all involved. Thank you to 2014 Northeast Region Chief Kyle Piper and Staff Adviser Brian Gray for their service to the region. Best of luck to Matt Bell as he charts the course and navigates the future of the Northeast Region.

The section chiefs of the Northeast Region gathered bright and early on the morning of December 28, 2014 to conduct the election for the 2015 northeast region chief. Matthew Bell of Section NE-4A was elected to lead the region into the 100th anniversary of the Order of the Arrow. Congratulations Matt!
This year is a very important one in the realm of the Order of the Arrow. As such, there are some very big decisions that needed to be made especially in regards to the leadership of the OA at a national level that will lead us all into the future with the 100th anniversary celebration. At this year’s National Planning Meeting in West Lake Texas the section chiefs from across the nation had the distinct pleasure and privilege of electing these leaders. The Northeast Region proudly serves as the home of the 2015 National Vice Chief of the Order of the Arrow, Donnie Stephens. Donnie was the Chief of Section NE-5B where he is a member of Lowwapaneu Lodge. Donnie will surely do a wonderful job in his new position and I would like to extend my personal congratulations one more time to him as he helps to lead us into another century of service in the Order of the Arrow.
Recently, the Northeast Region appointed Bob Black as Region Chairman. Bob is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor recipient from Otahnagon Lodge in Binghamton, NY. In the past, Bob worked on camp staff at Camp Tuscarora in the Baden-Powell Council, served as the Lodge Adviser of Otahnagon Lodge, and Section Adviser of Sections NE-3A and NE-3B.
