The Compass Point

Help Fuel Scouting’s Adventure at the 2017 National Jamboree

By: John Mazurie

Since 1950, Arrowmen have served as an integral component in each of the National Jamborees. This year, the Order of the Arrow (OA) is looking to break another record by having its largest staff ever, at this year’s National Jamboree. Called Operation Arrow, the OA will support the jamboree program in three primary program areas: the Service Corps, the Trek Guides and the Indian Village. Operation Arrow will also provide staff for the Medical Transport Corps, Aerial Sports Team, Summit Center exhibit and headquarters support staffs. The goal of Operation Arrow is to cement the Order of the Arrow’s reputation of service and impact thousands of Scouts from around the world. More than 450 Arrowmen have already signed up to be a part of this historic service effort but hundreds of openings are still available. We hope you will join us as a part of Operation Arrow, at the 2017 National Jamboree, for what is sure to be an experience of a lifetime! You can learn more about Operation Arrow as well as apply to be on staff by visiting: http://event.oa-bsa.org/events/jambo2017/.
