Congratulations to the Northeast region lodges who were awarded the E. Urner Goodman Camping Award, Order of the Arrow Innovation Award and the National Service Award in 2016!
The E. Urner Goodman Camping Award was established in 1969 as a tribute and testimonial to the Order’s founder. Its purpose is to encourage and challenge Order of the Arrow members and lodges to increase their effectiveness in promoting and increasing Scout camping in each council. Awards are presented to two outstanding lodges in each region annually. The following lodges are being recognized for their 2016 accomplishments: the Ashokwahta Lodge and the Lowanne Nimat Lodge.
The Order of the Arrow Innovation Award was established in 2012 to recognize chapters and lodges for developing creative and innovative solutions to challenges faced during the implementation of their annual program plans. Two awards in each region are presented
annually. The following recipients are being recognized for their 2016 accomplishments: the Lowanne Nimat Lodge and the Witauchsoman Lodge.
The Order of the Arrow is pleased to announce the selection of eight lodges for the National Service Award. Established in 1999, the National Service Award recognizes up to two lodges in each region that have performed outstanding qualitative and quantitative service for their council. The following lodges are being recognized for their 2016 accomplishments: the Lowanne Nimat Lodge and the Witauchsoman Lodge.
These awards will be presented to the lodges who earned them by the 2017 Northeast region Chief Jon Hagenow this May at the BSA National Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
